    OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME :
    The World Health Organization (WHO) India through its National Polio Surveillance Project provides an excellent opportunity for professional growth to dynamic and energetic medical professionals having an aptitude for public health.     Mission of the WHO Country Office for India

    Description of duties:
    Under the overall guidance of WHO Representative to India, Project Manager of the National Polio Surveillance Project of WHO- India and direct supervision of the Sub Regional Team Leader or Regional Team Leader with a view to achieve the expected results set out in the relevant WCO-India work plans in accordance with the WHO's country cooperation strategy with India, the incumbent will have the following responsibilities in her/his assigned area of work:
    1. Provide technical guidance to the government and non-government staff on polio eradication activities including AFP Surveillance, Supplementary Immunization, Polio- free certification and Polio End Game strategies.
    2. Facilitate the support for activities related to intensification of routine immunization, measles elimination and rubella control and surveillance of vaccine preventable diseases (VPDs).
    3. Build capacity of the government and non-government stakeholders involved with polio eradication, routine immunization, measles elimination and rubella control and VPD surveillance.
    4. Monitor and evaluate the planning and implementation of activities related to polio eradication, measles elimination and rubella control, routine immunization and VPD surveillance.
    5. Conduct regular analysis and interpretation of epidemiological, surveillance and immunization data to support appropriate follow up actions by the government and partners.
    6. Liaise and coordinate with partner agencies including UNICEF, Rotary and others for strengthening of activities related to polio eradication, routine immunization, measles elimination and rubella control and VPD surveillance.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    Education:
    Essential: MBBS (MCI/State Medical Council registration essential)
    Desirable: Post graduation in Community Medicine/Preventive & Social medicine/Public Health/ Pediatrics/other allied fields.

    The Role

    The Global Rebuild Workshop Quality Control and Welding inspector will responsible for the overseeing of the quality of the rebuild of the LH208 project. To ensure that this meets with the Sandvik and customer expectation.

    Through the management of facilities, processes and procedure incumbent will ensure that machine delivered will comply with the scope of works, from the start of the fabrication process through to the delivery of the machine to the customer site.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Carry out random inspections at supplier's premises on fabrication and/or machining parts to ensure that these are being made to Sandvik technical specification. To use whatever technology is available to carry out sample testing on weldments as and when required.
    • The incumbent will also be responsible to generate feedback reports as required to Head of Welding Technology in Finland.
    • To ensure that the machines get rebuild to the agreed Scope of Works, the incumbent will be required to carry out inspection of the machines during the rebuild process.
    • Generate and update procedures to align with requirements in order to ensure ongoing quality improvement and continues improvement.
    • To generate quality reports and in order to highlight and facilitate continuous improvement as well as loading QiR cases on the Data Base.

    Your profile 

    • Minimum of 2 years' experience in quality management or similar field.
    • Good understanding and experience in principles of welding.
    • Experience in Non-Destructive Testing techniques.
    • At least 2 years' experience in welding procedures and application.

    Regional Nursing Advisor

    POSITION SUMMARY:
    Reporting to the Project Director, Global Nurse Capacity Building Program, the Regional Nursing Advisor provides programmatic and technical support to ICAP country teams for the overall planning, implementation and evaluation of the Global Nurse Capacity Building Program (GNCBP) in select countries in sub-Saharan Africa. The GNCBP is a HRSA-funded Program which aims to address the shortage and quality of healthcare workers in countries throughout sub-Saharan Africa by strengthening nursing and midwifery education/training systems and supporting nursing and midwifery policy through regulatory development, curricula reform, faculty education, continuing professional development, retention and leadership.
    This position is grant funded.
    Please note that the job will be located in one of ICAP’s country offices in Sub-Saharan Africa. The exact location may be determined by the candidate’s home location.
    MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
    • Provides programmatic and technical support to ICAP country teams including assisting with stakeholder engagement, needs assessment, workplan development, program design, implementation and evaluation
    • In collaboration with the GNCBP Project Director, leads the development, execution and continual updating of the strategic plan for the General Nursing Subproject, which aims to increase nurse capacity at the pre- and in-service levels; develop and enhance national nursing strategies; improve nurse retention; establish and strengthen regulatory bodies; and support nursing leadership at the policy level
    • Travels to country programs to provide oversight and technical assistance in nurse capacity building including reviewing workplans, progress and challenges, conducting site visits to supported institutions to assess programmatic quality, and the development and dissemination of innovative human resources for health models and practices
    • Guides the development and/or refinement of protocols, presentations, reports, strategic plans, training materials, tools, and other resources to strengthen the capacity of nurses and midwives to address HIV and other essential population-based health care needs
    • Promotes networking and south-to-south exchange amongst ICAP nursing programs, and builds regional partnerships to promote nursing leadership, strengthen regulatory systems, and share resources and best practices
    • Actively participates in the preparation of work plans and donor reports
    • Represents ICAP and the Global Nurse Capacity Building Program at meetings, conferences, and other venues as needed

    EDUCATION:
    • Master’s Degree in Nursing/Midwifery
    EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Fluency in English and French is an absolute requirement
    • At least seven (7) years’ experience in HIV-related public health work in nursing and midwifery in resource-limited settings
    • Demonstrated experience in nurse training and mentorship in either education or clinical settings
    • Prior public health program evaluation experience
    • Demonstrated and successful experience working independently with minimal supervision
    • Demonstrated and successful experience collaborating with technically diverse stakeholders and USG funders
    • Strong leadership skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
