Our Client - An African contract mining company is currently recruiting for a Drill & Blast Manager in Botswana with citizenship or permanent Residency.
Job Description - The Drill and Blast Superintendent will be responsible for the drill and blast activities at the mine site including explosives magazine and consumables stock control. This person will be responsible for design and interpretation of blast hole and tie-in plans and effective communication and implementation in the field. The individual will use previous experience to mentor and train individuals and the team and maintain safety and quality standards.

Candidate Requirements - The perfect individual for this role will have a Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering or Explosives Technologies together with at least 5 years of experience in open pit mining in a drill and blast capacity. The person should have a demonstrated knowledge of Blast Design and Initiation software. (Surpac, BlastInfo) and prior experience in Explosives Magazine control and management. Previous experience in leading and training teams is essential together with valid blasting certificate.
