VACANCY: LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER (GREEN SCORPION)-1 YEAR CONTRACT
VACANCY CIRCULAR NO: 14 OF 2014
POST:LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER (GREEN SCORPION)
SALARY: B5- (P24 324.00- P28 968.00) per annum
QUALIFICATION: COSC/BGCSE or equivalent
EXPERIENCE: Experience as a green scorpion is an added advantage
DUTIES:
•Reports all acts of environmental pollution which include, but not limited to; over spilling on site sanitation facilities (e.g. septic tanks, dead animals etc.).
•Identify dirty spots area in their area of jurisdiction and bring them to the attention of the community leadership and council with the view to address the situation;
•Liaise with local health facilities in respective wards where deployed to mobilise communities on issues of waste management;
•Organise and participate in ‘mini clean up campaigns’ in their area of jurisdiction;
•Promote sorting of waste at local level and participate in the recycling at recycling centres established in the area of jurisdiction;
•Take part in firefighting as directed by the local authorities;
•Take part in tree planting activities in the area of jurisdiction as directed by local authorities;
•Organise educational talks on issues of waste management in the area;
•Document and report all incidences of illegal dumping of waste and indiscriminate littering to the relevant authorities;
•Produce and submit monthly and quarterly reports to the Environmental Health division using the standard report tool
