DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGY AND BIOTECHNOLOGICAL SCIENCES

SENIOR LECTURER/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (1 POSITION)

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Teaching Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering to both undergraduates and postgraduates in the department of Biological Sciences and Biotechnology.

Establishing an active research group in the field of genetic engineering (molecular biology, gene manipulation, directed evolution, site directed mutagenesis over an expression of genes of interest).

Preferred Skills:

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

•Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering

•Preferred Areas: Molecular Biology, Genetic Engineering, Bioinformatics  

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE PER POSITION

Minimum requirements:

Senior Lecturer:

A PhD in the relevant field with a minimum of three (3) years post-doctoral experience in teaching and research. An excellent record of international publications commensurate with appointment to the rank of Senior Lecturer. Experience in the supervision of Masters graduate students is required.

Associate Professor:

A PhD in the relevant field with a minimum of six (6) years post-doctoral experience in teaching and research. An excellent record of internationally recognized publications commensurate with appointment to the rank of Professor as well as experience in the successful supervision of doctoral students.
