Duties/ Responsibilities

  2. Ensure that examinations are written under a conducive environment; clean rooms, no external noise, sessions are timed correctly, properly account for examination materials etc
  3. Ensure that candidate are aware of the rules and regulations governing the conduct of examinations and abide by them
  4. Ensure that each candidate is provided with adequate examination materials appropriate for each subject
  5. Ensure that no acts of malpractice or maladministration occur; candidates do not copy, collude or cheat in any way
  6. Conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times during the examination and handle candidate’s queries promptly.

The Ministry of Education and Skills Development invites applicants from qualified citizens of Botswana for nine (9) undergraduate scholarships tenable in China for the academic year 2016. Aspirants are advised that the language of instruction is in Chinese, in this regard there is a mandatory language preparatory program for 1-2 years. The Chinese government scholarship covers tuition fees, basic learning materials, accommodation, living allowance, outpatient medical service and comprehensive medical insurance.

Report to Project Director, your key responsibility is as follows;
  • Should understand the Project cycle of Proposals, Estimation efforts, Engineering andexecution Work Process in all phases
  • Capable of working with Sales team on new Proposals, and understand Contracts, Pricing Models, commercial aspects (such as liabilities, project margins, etc).
  • Understand Project Progress and productivity metrics/statistics with respect to resource plan and Project Schedule
  • Understand and able to implement Change Management Process with timely Client approvals
  • Organize/Conduct weekly & monthly review meetings with Client and identifying key area of concern, identify risks and provide a mitigation plan
  • Conduct Project schedule development discussions.
  • Capable of interfacing/interacting with all stakeholders including process licensors, Clients,statutory authorities and vendors on routine/critical project execution issues.
  • Capable of interfacing discipline managers for purpose of resolving engineering issues on the Project
  • Capable of interfacing with Procurement Team to identify Procurement concerns and progress

  • Must have worked on Projects with scope such as FEED, Basic Engineering, Detailed Engineering, EPCm, and PMC within budget and within agreed

  • Should have good communication skills in dealing with various consultants, contractors and client management.
  • Prepare cost analysis based on the architectural drawings, engineering estimates, materials required and labour involved
  • Prepare cost plans to enable design teams to produce practical designs for construction projects, which involves liaising with architects, engineers and subcontractors.
  • Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
  • Evaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors and, where appropriate, negotiate with the contractors.
  • Control all stages of projects within predetermined budget and expenditure.
  • Monitor and keep track of project progress and are responsible for the measurement and valuation of variations in the work during the contract, for agreement of interim payments and the final account.
  • Understand and Prepare the Design docket along with all good for construction drawings.
  • To be excellent in preparing BOQ, BoM, Costing sheets,
  • To be excellent in Vendor Management, Problem solving and decision making for all projects.
  • Demonstrate the ability and initiative to handle increasing responsibility over time.

Requirements, Education and Experience

  • Degree in Civil Engineering and Construction Project Management with a minimum 10 years in successful implementation of Projects.
