The role
As a Sales Engineer you will use your technical knowledge and sales skills to develop customer solutions, provide advice and support on a range of Sandvik’s product line and applications to meet customer expectations whilst achieving sales targets.

Requirements
Main Responsibilities / Key performance areas
- Business development to generate sales by selling company products and services to existing customers and new customers.
- Identify and develop sales opportunities for Sandvik product lines and applications within the defi ned territory or set of customers.
- Develop long-term relationships with clients, through managing and interpreting of their operational requirements
- Liaise with After- Sales Service team and group technical experts to develop customer tailored solutions / value add propositions.
- Respond to tender enquiries or requests for quotations and develop appropriate solutions for customers.
- Sales administration and tender response to achieve a high level of deal participation
- Negotiating tender and contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs
- Provide budgets, sales forecasts and sales performance reviews as per the company’s business planning cycle.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis on regular basis
- Management of contracts to maintain profi tability and contribute positively to company results
- Work as part of the account management team for local or global accounts to identify customer sales opportunities
- Provide training and product support material to sales team and customers
- Support marketing activities through technical presentations and attendance of conferences, trade shows and other marketing events
- Compliance and management of SAFETY, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL program in the workplace and also with customers
Your profile
- Degree in Mining / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Marketing Management or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a mining / technical or sales environment
- Knowledge and understanding of underground mining equipment will be an added advantage
- Proven competence in Microsoft Offi ce applications as well as other CRM Systems
- A solid technical background and good business acumen
- Teamwork ethics
- The ability to build relationships with clients
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Sales and Marketing knowledge and skills
- Good communication and negotiation skills
A valid driving license
