2017 PRIMARY SCHOOL LEAVING EXAMINATION (PSLE) RESULTS RELEASED
Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) has released the 2017 Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE) results. A total of 44 427 (Forty Four Thousand Four Hundred and Twenty Seven) candidates wrote the 2017 examination showing an increase in candidature of 4.49% from the 2016 candidature of 42 517 (Forty Two Thousand Five Hundred and Seventeen).
The 2017 PSLE overall performance indicates that the proportion of candidates obtaining Grade C or better went up by 1.11% from 70.51% in 2016 to 71.62% in 2017. The percentage of candidates obtaining Grade A in this examination has gone up by 1.06% from 16.05% recorded in 2016 to 17.11%. Currently there are 18.78% of candidates at Grade B compared to 17.88 in 2016, representing a slight increase of 0.9%. At the lower grades, the proportion of candidates at Grade D has decreased by 0.47% from 22.09% in 2016 to 21.62% in 2017. There has also been a decrease of 0.75% from 7.30% in 2016 to 6.55% in 2017 at Grade E.
