You will be responsible for delivering value by providing a safe, efficient and effective procurement and in-bound supply chain services to the Rio Tinto Group businesses and functional operations. Developing and deploying the Sulphuric acid category strategy and requires in depth market analysis and best practice in commodity sourcing and contracting.

 

Key Performance Areas:

• Contribute to the development and deployment of world class category strategy
• Develop operational plans in support of the category strategy
• Research and analysis  of global developments in the acid markets
• Assist in contracting matters, including negotiating various commercial terms and finalising contract documents
• Manage relationships with relevant supplier personnel
• Manage relationships with customer personnel
• Prepare regular and ad hoc reports on various contracting, procurement and logistics matters
• Maintain records and databases of important communications, documents and information
• Manage category specific projects from time to time

 Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12
• A Bachelors Degree in a Commercial or Engineering discipline
• A minimum of 8 years working experience in a commercially focused role, ideally in procurement
• Demonstrated experience in commodity buying, such as sulphur or sulphuric acid
• Code BE drivers licence
