DELIVERY SERVICE MANAGER - GLOBAL HOLDINGS

Global Holdings is a leader within the FMCG Warehouse, distribution and sales industry and is actively seeking to employ a Delivery Service Managerreporting to the Managing Director.

Requirements

Applicants must preferably have a minimum of 5 years in a senior or managerial position.

Main Purpose of the Job:

• Target Achievement
• Strong managerial skills
• Good communicator
• A good Planner and good with Logistics

Key Performance Areas:

• Ensure on-time and in-full deliveries to our customer
• Manage standing orders at back doors
• Ensure efficient route to market
• Compile and Achieve the costing budget for the whole department and its subsections
• Control of diesel consumption, benchmarked against industry standards
• Management of Drivers and Van Assistants
• Effective control of pallets and any other returnable containers
• Ensure efficient and accurate checking of loads and loading of trucks
• Ensure efficient debrief function, timeous and accurate fl ow of information to other departments
• Effective participation in Global Holdings Management Team
• Ensure effective and efficient cross border load collection and deliveries
• Establish and management of an effective and efficient fleet maintenance program and fleet replacement schedule
• Ensure rapid response to vehicles breakdowns and accidents
• Ensure acceptable levels of fleet time and capacity utilisation
• Develop Delivery Service personnel to full potential
• Any other functions that are required to run a successful Delivery Service Department
