This position is located in the Office of the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) within the Funding Coordination Section (FCS) at Headquarters in New York. The Finance Officer reports directly to the Chief of FCS, which supports the management of and provides guidance to OCHA Country Based Pooled Funds (CBPFs), noting that the Finance Officer is accountable to the Executive Officer, Administrative Services Branch, on financial matters.
Education
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, finance, or related field. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Work Experience
A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in finance, administration, budget, business administration or related area. Experience managing extra-budgetary funding is required. Experience within a humanitarian context is required. Experience with field related financial functions is desirable. Experience in finance within the UN system is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French is desirable.
