Purpose of the role
The main function of the role is to solution Public Sector clients holistically, through identifying relevant client banking needs, proactively keeping the client relationship healthy and to maximise value through current and new business within acceptable risk levels.
Accountability:
Own the primary relationship with the client by being the clients main contact point for all business banking requirements, to ensure that the portfolio is serviced appropriately.
Secure new business and /sales by head hunting new business from current and prospective clients.
Review and negotiate new pricing structures with clients, in line with the Absa pricing policy.
Manage portfolio of clients from a business and risk perspective to ensure the banks risk is minimised
Analyse and balance credit risk with client capabilities linking available securities with cash flow (once again the size of the clients needs to be considered as this impacts complexity of financial analysis conducted), still ensuring that the bank obtains yield they need to achieve.
Education and Experience
B-degree in Commerce/marketing/Finance or equivalent NQF level 6 or higher qualification
5 – 8 Years of Sales and financial experience in a commercial or corporate banking environment
At least five (5) years experience in evaluating and understanding complex
company financials and other economic trends.
At least five (5) years experience in structuring a good complex credit solution and guiding the credit process with the required parties
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of a wide spectrum of financing markets/products and their application to suit client needsKnowledge of macroeconomic factors
Knowledge of Know Your Customer Procedures
Good Knowledge of Corporate Banking Products (Cash and Trade)
Legislative knowledge
