MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Reporting to the Superintendent: Mining Pond D, Mining as the Supervisor: Production - Shift you will supervise and control the activities of shift staff to optimize safe production in accordance with Mine Health and Safety regulations and RBM procedures, programs and standards.
JOB OBJECTIVES:
- Achieve set HSEC, production, maintenance, analytical and equipment utilization targets.
- Produce at an optimum rate to ensure production targets can be met and sustained.
- Conduct toolbox talks and walkabouts to identify housekeeping needs toward ensuring safe and effective operations.
- Supervise and control the activities, standards of performance and behaviour of staff to ensure that the correct procedures are followed.
- Conduct disciplinary hearings and attend to IR-related problems.
- Liaise with Superintendent, Operations Specialist, Maintenance Controllers, MIS Supervisor to identify solicit and direct resources to safer production objectives
- Issue and control plant permits for any type of work to be performed within his/her area of responsibility.
- Compile breakdown reports.
- Controls and manages spares, PPE and consumables on hand and ensure ordering thereof is done timeously
- Maintain and improve safety, health and environmental standards and practices.
- Perform fair and reasonable tasks related to the job and working environment, at the discretion of the Superintendent or Operations Specialist.
- Investigate incidents (safety or process) as and when they occur
- Drive a high performance team culture
- Drive and sustain a mission directed work team at Level 1 and participate actively in Level 2 (Visual Management Centers)

- Plant Task Observations on safety critical tasks on a routine basis
- Informed decision making resulting in effective implementation of mine plans

- Reporting of incidents and participation in incident investigations
- Monthly reports of work completed in line with KPI
- Building of healthy relationships with stakeholders
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- N6 Level qualification with 3 years production operations experience of which at least 1 year accumulated supervisory experience; OR
- Grade 12 (Maths and Science) with 5 years production operations experience of which at least 2 years should have been in a supervisory capacity
- Driver’s License: EB
