MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Reporting to the Superintendent: Mine Infrastructure Services, Mining, as the Supervisor: Relocation & Installation you will supervise and control relocation and installation operations of land-based equipment at the Mine.
JOB OBJECTIVES:
- Supervise and control the efficient relocation and installation of pumps, pipes and land-based equipment and infrastructure within the mine lease area.
- Supervise and assist in the planning of the transport of equipment, resources and staff in the mine lease area.
- Maintain and improve safety, health and environmental standards and practices.
- Ensure that staff training and development needs are identified and technical skills imparted via formalized training and on-the-job coaching to facilitate optimal functioning.
- Check all users of equipment and ensure that daily pre-start checklists are completed.
- Conduct toolbox talks, maintain attendance register and capture timesheets on the system.
- Report on CIP’s, PSI’s and Ngwenya investigations with team.
- Attend monthly meetings with clients.
- Report on accident investigations.
- Conduct pipe counts and report on deviations on a monthly basis.
- Plan and manage the overtime of incumbents ensure the overtime is within limits.
- Performs fair and reasonable tasks related to the job and working environment, at the discretion of the supervisor.
OUTPUTS:
- Informed decision making resulting in effective implementation of mine plans
- Continuous improvement on safety, health and environmental standards and practices
- Reporting of incidents and participation in incident investigations
- Monthly reports of work completed in line with KPI
- Building of healthy relationships with stakeholders
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 (Maths and Science) / N3
- Experience in a mining / heavy minerals industry environment with good understanding of operation of heavy mobile equipment
- Code 08 driver’s License
- PDP/ Code 10 driver’s license would be advantageous
