The World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. We are currently seeking to fill an internship position under the Logistics Division (Aviation Service). The position will be based in Rome. The Internship will be for a period of three (3) months starting from May 2015.
Description
The selected candidate will be assisting the Air Transport Unit of the Aviation Service with the following key duties:
  • Manage contracted aircraft technical data in the Electronic Flight Management Application system (TakeFlite);
  • Ensure system integrity of financial and other management support reports in TakeFlite;
  • Manage replication functions of the Satellite Tracking System (IndigoSAT) and Takeflite to harmonise Aircraft Utilisation Reports (AUR);
  • Coordinate contract performance statistics with the Performance Management Tool data, analyse results and produce relevant reports;
  • Support the Air Transport Unit in IT-related functions and other routine duties.
Essential Requirements
  • Currently enrolled or have recently graduated from a University degree in Computer Science & Information Systems;
  • Have completed at least two years of undergraduate study;
  • Have attended courses in the last 12 months;
  • Proficiency in MsOffice (Word, Excel, Power Point);
  • Fluent in English. Second UN language would be an asset.
Terms and Conditions
  • Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP up to the amount of US$700 per month (depending on the duty stations)
  • WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, travel to and from WFP internship location, necessary visas and costs related.
