VACANCY: CIRCULAR NO 2 OF 2015 TEMPORARY TECHNICAL OFFICER (4 POSTS)

Applications are invinted from suitably qualified Botswana Citizens for the post of Temporary Technical Officer for a period of one (1) year in the Ministry of Agriculture - Department of Veterinary Services.

SALARY SCALE- C4(64632-77208 per annum)
LEAVE: 20 working days per annum
QUALIFICATION: Diploma in Animal Health and Production

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To implement livestock disease control programmes under the guidance of supervisor

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
-Attends to clinical cases and recommends appropriate interventions
-Vaccinates livestock against major diseases
-Provides advice and demonstration on livestock managemenpractices to stakeholders
-Provides guidance on treatment of animal diseases
-Undertakes bolus insertion campaigns for linkage to the visual ear tag
-Issues movement permits for animals and animal products.
-Train farmers on livestock identification process
-Attends to customer queries and concerns
-Collects samples for disease surveillance
-Monitors the provision of data for the preparation of the disease control schedules
-Undertakes any other related dutiesas may be assigned by management
