MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Reporting to the Controller: Repairables Engineering, as the Assessor: Mechanical Rotables you will investigate all work requests to ensure correct materials, spares and procedures are identified and to check that the work is of, and within, the requisite standards, specifications and quality.
 
JOB OBJECTIVES:
  • Managing assets by tracking them and ensuring the high quality and availability of assets
  • Correct identification of assets
  • Preliminary fault finding
  • Receive faulty item from various plants, conduct failure analysis and ensure the item is correctly identified
  • Review and prioritize job requests
  • Perform on-site surveys of job received for assessment, determines work contact and resource requirements and performs initial problem analysis
  • Determine appropriate level of skill and service section required for work execution
  • Develop accurate job estimates for all standard jobs to aid the budgeting process
  • Inspect quality and conformance of parts received from vendors
  • Maintain and improve safety, health and environmental standards and practices
  • Perform fair and reasonable tasks related to the job and working environment, at the discretion of the Supervisor.

  • MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Std 10 / Grade 12 / N3 in an Engineering discipline
  • Artisan Trade Test (Mechanical: Fitting & Turning)
  • 5 years post trade test with workshop and plant experience in heavy / mining industry would be advantageous
  • Drivers Licence: EB
