Our midstream line of business unlocks value with storage capacity of 16 million barrels ("bbls"). This will be increased to approximately 26 million bbls by 2014 in accordance with the capital investment programme currently being implemented and various investment opportunities being originated. It makes Puma Energy one of the largest independent fuel storage operators. The downstream business supplies gasoil, gasoline, jet and niche products (like lubricants and bitumen) to a global network of over 1,300 retail service stations, 28 airports worldwide and the construction industry. This enables infrastructure development in emerging economies.
Puma Energy is a privately owned company with two strategic partners and main shareholders - Trafigura Group and Sonangol Holdings. Although the company operates at arms-length from both, it benefits from their management expertise and market knowledge.
Main Purpose
Responsible for providing specialist advice and support to the business on a range of human resource and organisational development issues including but not limited to; employee relations, reward, disciplinary and grievance employment policies and contracts, resourcing, organisational design, training , talent management and succession planning . Ensure smooth deployment of Global policies & processes and build a culture of operational excellence and customer focus. Ensures consolidation of HR data and performance metrics for measuring effectiveness of HR initiatives and function in driving organizational performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensures payroll and reporting data is complete and accurate, reconciled with the HRIS in terms of headcount and total fixed and variable cash, and that the payroll process is adequately controlled and compliant with legislative requirements
• Provides strategic business partner (part of local leadership team), and field employee/labour relations support to local businesses in region and drives people initiatives and programs, working with the management teams to excel in the successful execution of people strategy.
• Interprets and communicates business needs, and identifies or assists in crafting appropriate solutions to meet needs, within framework of Puma global HR initiatives.
• Consolidation of regional HR data and performance metrics for measuring effectiveness of HR initiatives and function in driving organizational performance and containing costs.
• Ensures that all HR processes are compliantly implemented.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Qualifications:
• University degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related areas.
Experience:
• Min 10 years’ of human resources management, with increasing levels of experience in a medium to large multinational, preferably in multi-cultural environments.
• Knowledge of Human Resources related programs, processes, tools, policies and guidelines and their application to complex organizational issues.
• Knowledge of organizational concepts, including: team management, organizational design, resource utilization and workforce planning.
• Proven experience in dealing with HR matters related to acquisitions and its derived components for the HR function (e.g. experience in due diligence, restructuring, among others).
