  The Head of Engineering and Asset Management fulfills leadership and governance tasks across Engineering and Group Asset Management in support of the overall strategy and business objectives. Tasks are fulfilled company-wide: at DCC, at the operations and within projects.

   The main purpose is the development and steering of the departmental strategy to enhance Asset Management maturity and translation of this strategy into operational improvements. Also, the role provides thought leadership and advice on key strategic decisions to ExCo members.

   The Head of Engineering and Asset Management engages with educational institutions, government, policy makers and parastatals to guide future policies, assess risks, build capacity and capability in Engineering throughout Botswana.

  To acquire practical engineering experience through proficiency based development program in preparation for a substantive appointment to the position of Maintenance Engineer in a heavy Engineering environment.

  ​During the programme the candidate will;

  • Get exposure on practical, hands on work experience in Occupational Hygiene function across all Debswana Operations (Jwaneng Mine, Orapa, Letlhakane and Damtshaa Mines, Group Projects, Debswana Corporate Center].
  • Get an appreciation for and apply current standards, policies and procedures on Occupational Hygiene.
  • Be accorded the training to enable them to develop skills and competencies necessary to subsequently identify, evaluate and control Occupational Hygiene stressors and risk.
