Job Summary:
To contribute to the education of the whole child, attending to the intellectual, emotional, physical and social development of the child through Music.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• Diploma in Education with specialization in Music Education
• 3 years post qualification experience in teaching Music

Key Effectiveness Areas:

• Recommends and incorporates cost saving initiatives into budgets and controls expenditure.
• Draws up yearly, termly and weekly plans of subject matters by:
• Complying with school subject policies
• Referring to the syllabus
• Prepares lesson plans to achieve desired objectives taking cognizance of available resources & equipment.
• Provides an effective and stimulating environment for education by:
• Maintaining teaching area in a neat orderly condition
• Prepares and coordinates music/ cultural including but not limited to plays, assemblies/ Christmas carols such as drawing up duty lists and setting up of the hall.
• Complies with all requirements pertaining to the teaching
• Performs an array of administrative duties including but not limited to;
• Playground duty, scholar patrol duty, etc.
• Be able to play a variety of musical instruments such as the keyboard, guitar and marimbas and others
• Implements safety, Health & environment programmes in the area of responsibility taking cognizance of all legal requirements.
