RECORDS MANAGER 1

VACANCY CIRCULAR NUMBER 9 OF 2014 

Applications are invited from suitably qualified citizens for the following vacancies tenable in the Department of Corporate Services - Ministry of Finance and Development Planning

SALARY: C1 P123 168 per annum

LEAVE: 30 working days per annum

BENEFITS: (a) - Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government contributes 50% and employee contributes 50%).

(b) - Contributory Pension (Government contributes 15% and employee contributes 5% of salary).

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates should have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Archives and Records Management or Library and Information Studies.

EXPERIENCE

A minimum of 4 years post qualification experience as Records Manager; 2 years of which should be at Records Manager II.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To monitor the implementation of records management standards and procedures.

DUTIES

Among others;
• Guides customers on records management standards and procedures.
• Conducts records management sensitization workshops for customers.
• Attends to customer queries and requests.
• Administers the customer satisfaction and records management surveys.
• Analyses data for customer satisfaction and records management surveys
• Develops file classification scheme.
• Develops records retention and disposal schedule.
• Conducts appraisals of semi-current records.
• Provides guidance on the use of classification scheme and retention and disposal scheme.
• Verifies accession list of semi current record.
• Prepares records management status reports.
• Processes semi-current records received in the Records Centre
• Researches on records management issues
• Benchmarks on best practices
• Collaborates with other records management professionals to share information on records management issues.
Undertakes any other related duties as may be assigned by management.
