1.1.Job Purpose
The incumbent will be responsible for the health orientation of new Foreign Service personnel; coordinates medical clearances examinations and medical evacuations; coordinates local hospitalizations of Foreign Service personnel; maintains an immunization clinic for routine and travel immunizations; maintains an occupational health clinic; responds to medical emergencies during off-duty hours; maintains various health reports; prepares and conducts health programs and performs other administrative duties as required.
1.2.Qualifications Required
•Bachelor Degree in nursing is required.
•Five years of nursing experience is required.
•Level IV English (fluent both written and spoken) is required.
•Must be familiar with standard nursing practices and primary healthcare in Botswana and should be able to perform standard nursing medical procedures. Thorough understanding of U.S. medical practices, health standards, and U.S. Government regulations as pertains to official Americans assigned overseas is highly desirable.
•Must possess or be able to obtain registration as a professional nurse in Botswana
