Overview of role
To create demand for the 3M Occupational Health and Environmental Services Portfolio and grow the supported businesses in the key Manufacturing /Industrial Segments identified in the strategic plan. This role, while commercially focused, involves a great deal of support, technical consultancy and expertise in the field of occupational safety. The accent is therefore on creating a value proposition beyond simply offering our products and solutions to the Manufacturing Industry.
Job description
- Achieve pre-agreed annual sales growth
- Serve as a conduit for voice of customer (VOC) or voice of market (VOM)
- Identification of new product or product modification opportunities for key markets
- Maintain a CRM database of opportunities and continually update these opportunities as they progress into realisable sales
- Introduce and establish all new products as they are launched. Opportunity for increased profitability and growth
- Review current state of business with the Key Accounts on a regular basis and adjust specific objectives as necessary
- Work to a plan to maintain appropriate contact with all levels of end user accounts
- Maintain full awareness of current trade activity
- Maintain sales support system / record cards in an accurate and relevant style in line with group policy
- Prepare and work in accordance with the Sales Territory Plan
- Handle all product complaints promptly
- Establish and maintain regular contact with all people within the 3M organisation
- Comply with current routine administrative procedures promptly and accurately
- Manage financial resources effectively and efficiently
- Develop sound product knowledge and competent demonstration skills
- Attend formal training programmes as agreed
- Maintain all support items – samples, literature, price lists – in first class condition
Requirements, Education and Experience
- Sales Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 6 years selling experience in the Manufacturing or Mining Industry
- Office procedures, Sales administration, Product, Market, Pricing, Industry
- Personal development, Sales training, Technical skills, Flexibility, Teamwork, Relationship building, Persuasion,Ethics, Innovation, Accountability, strong key account management with sales growth
- Driver’s license
- Computer literacy ( MS Office , especially Excel and PowerPoint )
