1.BIOINFORMATICIAN 

1.1.Job Purpose

The successful candidate will be expected to work independently on specified projects requiring bioinformatics expertise as determined by the project local Principal Investigator and researchers. A demonstrable ability to do statistical analysis using STATA, SAS or R and other statistical packages is highly desirable. Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems administration is desirable. Scientific programming expertise in bioinformatics, especially PYTHON is highly desirable. Phylogenetic analysis and good communication skills in both written and English are required.

1.2.Qualifications and Experience

•BSc (any Biological Sciences) and experience in statistics and programming OR
•BSc (Computer Science / IT) and some understanding of molecular biology, Statistics OR
•BSc (Bioinformatics) and related fields
•The candidate should have worked as a Research Assistant/Fellow or equivalent for 1 year, but this can be waive-red for candidates with exceptional grades.
•A graduate Degree in Bioinformatics or related will be an added advantage
