This post is to be found in the Mauritania Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Nouakchott, under the direct supervision of the Head of Office.
Advanced university degree (Master's degree of equivalent) in law, social/political science, international relations or in related fields. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the protection of human rights and related areas. Experience in monitoring and advocacy would be an asset. Working experience in countries with a highly stratified population would be an asset.
Fluency in written and oral English and French are required. Knowledge of Arabic would be highly desirable
