Botswana Unified Revenue Service (BURS) is a semi-autonomous organization of Government, responsible for assessing and collecting tax revenue as well as border administration. BURS invites dynamic, self- motivated and qualified citizens of Botswana to apply for the following posts:
JUNIOR DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR x 1
Main purpose of job:
To test and implement changes to computer databases, and implement security measures
to safeguard computer databases.
To monitor database capacity and perform repeating types of database maintenance
activities e.g restores, roll backs, test environment setup, creation of users and roles, etc
PROGRAMMER X 2
Main purpose of job:
To be responsible for the performance of any/ all functions involved in the development and/
or maintenance of new or existing applications.
Using programming language and technology, writes code, completes programming and
documentation, and performs testing and debugging of applications. Analyses, designs,
programs, debugs and modifies software enhancements and/ or new products used in
maintaining, auditing and improving organisational support systems by using existing
systems or incorporating new technologies to meet particular needs of the organisation
PRINCIPAL LEGAL SERVICES OFFICER x 2
Main purpose of job:
To render legal advice to user departments, deliver day to day work relating to contract and
legislative drafting, including monitoring BURS contracts, revenue laws, intergovernmental
agreements and legal resource books. To conduct litigation and resolution of appeals
arising from the exercise of powers or duties under the revenue laws, including revenue
appeals, revenue debt collection and criminal prosecutions.
MANAGER, ARCHITECTURE & INTEGRATION x 1
Main purpose of job:
To plan, manage, coordinate, architect, and supervise all activities related to the integration
of software programs, applications, and third party solutions as required to meet the
business requirements of the organisation.
To develop technology specifications and ensure that new technology solutions are
designed for optimal access and usefulness.
To develop and maintain an application integration architecture blueprint for the
organization, overseeing testing of the interoperability of application modules.
