ENTRY BUSINESS ANALYST – RESEARCH X1 (TEMPORARY 6 MONTHS)
Main purpose of the job
To support the identification of priority areas for research, assist in organizing and carrying out economic research, market analysis and statistical analysis.
Key Performance Areas
Assist with plan for research to be undertaken
Conduct data collection (primary/secondary) and undertake subsequent data analysis.
Produce reports and undertake presentations to user departments as well as the management
Analysis of trade and investment data to identify trends.
Participate in LED Steering Committee meetings and write detailed back to office reports
Upon receipts of TORs received from departments, develop data collection instrument and logistics on administering the survey instrument
Contribute towards key policy intervention and development areas
Provide economic trends, trade statistics

Communication and presentation Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Awareness of the external business environment (trends in world international trade and investment issues) as well as country economic ratings/indices
Analytical & interpretation skills
Experience and knowledge of statistical databases for national and international statistics such as Stats Botswana, World Bank, IMF, and others. Customer care.
Knowledge of the use of data analysis software such as Eviews, STATA and related packages are essential
Educational qualifications
Degree in Economics, Statistics, International Trade or equivalent.
Minimum of one (1) year experience doing a similar or related job.
