Job Summary
To provide an effective Geotechnical Engineering service to meet the operation’s objectives through collection, validation,
computerization and interpretation of Geotechnical Engineering data.
To provide an effective Geotechnical Engineering service to meet the operation’s objectives through collection, validation,
computerization and interpretation of Geotechnical Engineering data.
Key Effectiveness Areas
Recommends cost saving initiatives into budgets and controls expenditure within approved parameters
Collects, validates and analyses Geotechnical data for use in the planning process through
Geological/Geotechnical mapping
Geological/Geotechnical borehole logging
Collection and preparation of laboratory test samples from borehole core and field samples
Compiles and consolidates Geotechnical data into databases and uses the information to update Geotechnical maps and plans.
Coordinates the collection, validation and input of pit slope management data in appropriate databases and ensures that they meet the agreed standards.
Communicates monitoring results to Supervisor and relevant operational, planning and management staff for hazard and information rectification through routine and special reports.
Undertakes Geotechnical projects in order to increase slope design confidence levels and rock fall/slope failure risk mitigations.
Manages manpower to achieve team objectives by;
Setting objectives for subordinates, coaching and appraising them to ensure that the set targets are met.
Prioritizing and supervising tasks performed by subordinates.
Reviewing performance of subordinates regularly.
Adheres to all Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures in area of responsibility.

3 years post qualification experience
