Applications are invited from suitably qualified citizens for the following positions in the National AIDS Coordinating Agency. The positions will be 2 year contracts tenable in Gaborone, renewable upon annual satisfactory performance and subject to availability of funding.
1. GLOBAL FUND GRANTS COORDINATOR
Qualification: Degree in Public Health, Development Studies, economics or Programme Management with considerable experience in management and implementation of development programmes including health related programmes.
Experience: At least 5 years of experience in management of development programmes/project management. Good knowledge of health, HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria programs in developing countries.
Salary: E1 (P 381, 816.00 – P 397, 260.00)
Main Purpose of the Job: To coordinate implementation of the Global Fund grants in Botswana.
Main responsibilities
1. Develop Global Fund grants implementation work plans.
2. Monitor and evaluate implementation of grant activities at Principal and Sub recipient level.
3. Produce and submit grant performance and annual reports.
4. Prepare grants progress updates and disbursement requests to the Global Fund.
5. Ensure annual audits of grants are conducted at PR and Sub Recipient level and submitted to the Global Fund.
6. Work closely with the District Health Management Teams in implementation of grant activities.
7. Ensure the delivery of quality training, technical assistance and capacity building of implementers.
8. Oversee all procurement related to the grant.
9. Report on the performance of the grants to the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM).

2. SENIOR MONITORING AND EVALUATION OFFICER
Qualification: BA/BSc. in Statistics, Demography, Health Science, Public Health, Epidemiology or Social Studies.
Experience: At least 10 years’ experience in monitoring and evaluation of health programmes especially HIV/AIDS, TB or 5 years’ experience with a Master’s degree in the above fields.
Salary: E2 (P 334, 944.00 – P 348, 468.00)
Main Purpose of the Job: To strengthen monitoring and evaluation activities of the Global Fund grants to be able to report timely in line with the Ministry of Health and Global Fund policies and guidelines.
Main responsibilities
1. Review the existing M&E plan to ensure that it is comprehensive and meets the Global Fund recording and reporting requirements.
2. Facilitate development and/or revision of the existing M&E plan, approaches and tools for the implementation of the TB/HIV grant.
3. Develop and implement a plan for data acquisition, management, analysis and results reporting.
4. Conduct regular grant performance review analysis based on overall grant reports and identify challenges and opportunities for improvement.
5. Facilitate identification of capacity gaps of Sub-Recipients (SRs) in M&E and facilitate remedial actions within stipulated time lines.
6. Prepare training programmes for SRs on the use of recommended reporting and monitoring formats and guidelines.
7. Supervise and support M&E Officer II.
