VACANCY - PRINCIPAL ELECTIONS OFFICER I - D2 (1 POST)-TENABLE AT IEC GUMARE OFFICE
The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) exist to provide credible and transparent electoral services to its stakeholders for enhanced participation in the electoral processes.

MAIN PURPOSE FOR THE JOB:
To coordinate the implementation of electoral processes throughout the Electoral Cycle in accordance with the Electoral Act.

Summary of duties
1. Interpret the Electoral Act to the public;
2. Interpret and manages Outreach Programmes;
3. Supervises the planning and implementation of voter registration exercise;
4. Supervise planning and implementation of activities of voting process;
5. Produce regular reports
6. Deputies the Chief Elections Officer in executing administrative and technical responsible of the Elections Unit;
7. Manages the outstation’s Recurrent Budget and Procurement Processes; and
8. Manage the outstation’s Resources.
9. Undertake any other related duties as assigned by the Secretary and the Commission

QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in Political Science/ Public Administration/ International Relations/ Human Resource Management/ Social Work/ Business Administration/ Communication and Public Relations..
EXPERIENCE:
At least 10 years Post Qualification Experience of which 2 years should have been served at D3 salary scale. Managerial experience will be an added advantage.
SALARY SCALE: D2 (P231, 708 - P255, 828 per annum)
LEAVE RATE: 30 working days per annum
BENEFITS: Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme with 50%
From Government and 50% from Employee. Compulsory contributory pension Scheme (Government pays 15% and Employee pays 5%)
