QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
•Diploma in Rehabilitation/ Occupational Therapy/
Physiotherapy,
•At least 2 years’ minimum relevant work experience
•People with disability (PWDs) will have an added advantage
•No criminal record,
•Not registered in the Register of Children Abusers in
accordance with Children’s Act, 2009
•Must be of sober habits
•MUST HAVE ACTIVE PRACTICE LICENCE AND
BE REGISTERED WITH THE BOTSWANA HEALTH

MAIN DUTIES:
•To head and run the therapy department with a view to
stimulate and rehabilitate children with disabilities,
•To work as a team member with a view to plan the work of
the therapy department,
•Proper upkeep of equipment and ensure that the supply of
materials needed in the department are available,
•To guide, encourage and teach subordinates to improve the
quality of the service provided to children with disabilities.
•To asses children with disabilities referred to SHTS and plan
therapy and treatment accordingly.
•To assess the needs of the clients and where necessary refer
them to medical practitioners, social workers, orthopedic
technicians, surgeons, speech therapists, audiologists, eye
specialists etc.
•To plan and implement Community Based Rehabilitation
and assist other members of the team,
•To undertake any other duties as may be required to meet
the needs of the service.
