PRINCIPAL ELECTRICAL ENGINEER II - MINISTRY OF INFRASTRUCTURE AND HOUSING DEVELOPMENT
Main Purpose of the job
Directly responsible for overall management and control of all aspects of "Pre-Contract" and "Post-Contract" stages of Government projects in Electrical Engineering
Provides advice in all matters related to designs and Construction of electrical engineering works
Attends to technical queries and complaints from clients
Provides advice to Ministries and Departments on all matters relating to mechanical engineering and compliance with relevant acts, code of practice, regulations and safety requirements
Coordinates final inspection and handover of completed projects, ensuring issuance of final completion certificates
Liaises with the departmental design team in the development of construction designs
Carries out designs and ensures drawings, schematics, bills of quantities and specifications are properly prepared
Coordinates the departments development projects and works out strategies on implementing them
Evaluates the performance of contractors/consultants and advises in recommending new appointments
Analyses and processes payment vouchers relating to payment to consultants, contractors and suppliers and recommends as appropriate
Provides on the job training to junior officers on design principles, installation techniques, maintenence techniques, pre-contract and post-contract management
Undertakes any other duties assigned by management

Degree in Electrical Engineering
Applicants should have registered with a relevant professional body, and if not registered they should submit proof that they have commenced registration
Certification or a Masters Degree in Project Management from an accredited Project Management Institution is an added advantage
Experience:

Experience:
6 years of relevant work experience in the Management of Construction Projects
2 years of which should have been at Senior Electrical Engineer D4 level or an equivalent level in Parastatals or Private Sector
Benefits
Salary scale: D3 (P215 868 - P238 320) per annum
