Applications are invited from suitably qualified citizens for the below contract position (24 – 36 months) at the Botswana Fifty Anniversary of Independence Coordinating Unit (BOT 50) under the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture, tenable in Gaborone.
Talented, proactive, self-driven, visionary and qualified Batswana are therefore sought to fill the above mentioned positions.
Salary Scale: D2 (P218, 592.00 – P241, 344.00) per annum.
Leave: 30 working days per annum

Benefits: Entitled for 25% gratuity per annum for years worked.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences /Public Relations/Communication Studies / Research Studies or related field. A Master’s Degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
Experience: A minimum of eight (8) years relevant post qualification experience, two (2) of which should have been served at D3 level or equivalent.

Main Purpose of the job:
To provide research, marketing, publicity and information dissemination of all the Botswana Fifty Anniversary of Independence Celebrations activities.
Key Performance Areas:
a) Spearheads the publicity and marketing of the Botswana Fifty Anniversary of Independence activities.
b) Coordinates the undertaking of the research and documentation of issues relating to Botswana’s achievements.
c) Oversees production of publicity material, publication of research documents (print and electronic) of the Botswana Fifty Anniversary of Independence activities.
d) Coordinates public discussions on issues relating to Botswana’s achivements as well as the progress on the Vision Pillars in collaboration with Vision 2016 Council.
e) Identifies potential sponsors for BOT 50 programmes and makes recommendations to the BOT 50 Coordinator.
f) Develops fundraising strategies for the BOT 50 programmes and activities.
g) Consolidates progress reports on all activities implemented and submits to the Coordinator.
h) Provides regular maintenance of the Government Portal and BOT 50 Website to ensure up to date information.
i) Spearheads planning and implementation of the BOT 50 roadshows and literacy competitions.
j) Conducts field visits to monitor implementation.
k) Liaises with stakeholders in the planning, coordination and implementation of BOT 50 programmes and activities.
l) Makes recommendations for the review of programmes and activities.
m) Assist in the Consolidation of the BOT 50 budget estimates for submission to the Coordinator.
n) Manages all resources within the BOT 50 effectively (fleet, movable and immovable property).
o) Undertakes other BOT 50 assingments to meet the extigencies of the service.
