VACANCY: PROCUREMENT OFFICER I
Applications are invited from suitably qualified citizens for the above post in Administration of Justice.
Qualifications: Degree or Diploma in Strategic Supply Chain Management or Business Administration or Chartered Institute of Purchase and Supply Level 6 or Level 5 or any other related field.
Experience: At least four (4) years’ work experience in Purchasing, Supply and Materials Management, two (2) of which should have been served as Procurement Analyst II Senior Supplies Officer).
Salary Scale: C1 (P 130 560.00 – P 156 012.00) per annum
Leave: 30 working days per annum.
Benefits: Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme. (Government pays 50% and Employee 50%).
Pension: Contributory Pension Fund (Government pays 15% and Employee pays 5%).
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To perform clerical and technical duties to support contracting operations.
CORE DUTIES
• Provides technical assistance and guidance on procurement regulations and procedures to ministries.
• Reviews and analyses client requirements, liaises with client to determine best procurement strategy to meet the needs of the requirements.
• Requests and compiles Quotation information to facilitate selection of best supplier.
• Prepares bid packages, conducts pre-bid meetings and evaluates bids.
• Compiles data contained in quotations/proposals/bids to facilitate the determination of the best supplier in terms of quality, delivery time, discounts and transportation costs among others.
• Reviews vendor invoices; determines accuracy of charges and funding availability; summarizes and allocates costs prior to management approval and processes suppliers’ invoices for payment.
• To perform any other duty as assigned by the supervisor.
