Area Manager- Rock Tools

The role

Responsible for growth of sales, profitability and share of Western Limb rock tools business through:

• Effective management of a team of Tooling Sales and Service Representatives (TSSRs) and CPM contract managers. This specifically includes performance management.
• Monitoring and appropriate intervention in CPM contract performance to ensure both customer satisfaction and Sandvik profitability.
• Direction and participation in sales activities which will involve interaction with customers at the mine manager level.
• Responsibility for the tooling inventory held within CPM and local stock rooms. Specifically accountable for the on-time submission of the area product consumption forecast into the Voyager system.
• Responsibility for the collation of financial budgeting and forecast information and submission to head office.
• Implementation of sales and marketing initiatives as and when required.

Your profile

• 1 – 2-year Sales/Marketing/Business Management Diploma or recognised prior learning
• 5-years’ experience in the mining industry that must include exposure to drilling processes and an awareness of mining methods and technology
• Computer literate with proven competence in Microsoft Office applications as well as mid-range applications such as Aurora and Voyager
• Excellent communication skills including proven ability to deliver business presentations and conduct professional meetings with senior customer representatives
• Fit to conduct regular visits to both underground and surface mining operations
• Valid driving licence
• Willingness to travel locally
