1. Background and Placement Opportunity
UNICEF promotes the rights and wellbeing of every child, in everything we do. Together with our partners, we work in 190 countries and territories to translate that commitment into practical action, focusing special effort on reaching the most vulnerable and excluded children, to the benefit of all children, everywhere.
UNICEF globally has successfully engaged in resource mobilisation from the private sector (individuals, corporations, high net worth individuals and foundations) for many years. In South Africa, resource mobilisation began in 2007 to ensure the sustainability of programmes aimed at delivering results for children.
Following a detailed mapping of the private sector and the development of a resource mobilisation strategy, the team is active in cultivating partnerships and potential donors. This requires ongoing research, the development of strategic pitches to potential partners, and strong management of partnerships (individuals and corporates).
