Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • A Masters Degree in Hospitality Management and/or Sustainable Ecotourism or equivalent qualification. A teaching advantage will be an added advantage
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant academic experience and/or industry experience
  • Holders of a PhD in Hospitality Management or equivalent with research experience will be an added advantage
Job Responsibilities:
  • The ideal candidate should be able to manage the Department of hospitality management including administration of the team and existing programmes. The position also entails the development of new programmes both for on campus and distance learning mode.
  • Develop a good understanding of the core curricula offered by the Department of hospitality management and keep him/her regularly updated with the latest developments in the national, regional and international markets to provide relevant support to the students in this area.
  • Provide effective leadership and strategic management of staff in all functions and activities related to the Department.
  • Promote research and staff development.
  • Recognize the role that the institution plays in the community and work to integrate community service into the learning, teaching, assessment and research activities of the Department.
  • Work with industry and academia to provide valuable inputs to build the quality and relevance of the Department’s programmes/modules.
  • Teach a minimum of three (3) modules in any of the following areas offered by the department
Lecturers/Senior Lecturers Hospitality Management-


Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • A Masters Degree in Hotel Management /Hospitality Management or Equivalent. A teaching qualification will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in revenue management in a 4-star or 5-star establishment.
  • Computer literate and be familiar with computerized POS Systems and stock control systems.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Teach any hospitality management modules as assigned by the Head of Department.
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of hotel revenue management including hospitality law.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of management functions and the ability to communicate with all levels of personnel and students.
  • Conduct and train refresher classes for all revenue management personnel and students in the correct procedures.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of department.
