The Government Implementation Coordination Office, in the Office of the President invites applications from qualified citizens to fill the following vacancies:
SALARY: E1 (349,704 - 363,840) per annum
LEAVE: 30 working days per annum
BENEFITS:
i) Contributory Pension Scheme (Government pays 15% and
employee pays 5%)
ii) Optional contributory Medical Aid (Government pays 50% and
employee pays 50%)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidate should possess a recognized Degree in Social Sciences (Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, etc.). Master’s Degree in the related field would be an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE:
• At least fourteen (14) years relevant work experience, two (2) of which should have been at a senior professional level in Government (E2 level), or equivalent in the Private Sector or in a Parastatal Organization.
• Strong strategic and analytical skills and project management skills
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To Co-ordinate and monitor implementation of policies, programmes and projects to ensure linkages amongst all major government projects for purpose of synergy, efficiency and impact.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Ensures co-ordination and monitoring of Government policies, programmes and projects for effective implementation.
• Build programme and project management capacity at Ministry and District level for effective co-ordination and implementation of Government policies, programmes and projects
• Develops a comprehensive Government programme/project management system to support coordinated delivery of Government programmes and projects.
• Supports the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning by making contributions to support the Project Review process and the Estimate Committee during the Planning and Budgeting process.
• Supports the Thematic Working Groups (TWGs) during programme/project implementations to ensure continuous co-ordination and for purposes of synergy, efficiency and drive for results
• Ensures creation of linkages amongst all major government projects that seek to achieve a common goal
• Follow-up on all delayed projects and challenges facing implementation of Government policies and programmes.
• Facilitates the setting up of Project Management Offices in Ministries and Districts.
