2.METER TECHNICIAN
2.1.Job Purpose
The incumbent is expected to repair and calibrate meters on rigid trucks and tanker trailers in line with manufactures specifications. In addition to meters, the other equipment to be attended to are delivery hoses/couplings, including electrical continuity, bonding cables, foot valves, mass and overfill sensors, optic sensors and emergency release button operations to prevent product loss or environmental pollution.
2.2.Requirements / Competencies
•Self motivated
•Strong supervisory skills
•Have National Craft Certificate, BOBS Certificate of Competence or equivalent
•Have at least five (5) years experience as meter technician in a busy transport workshop
•Experience in working with Safety, Health , Environment & Quality systems is essential as you will be required to drive the implementation of ISO Certification for 9001. 14001, 18001 and Occupational Health & Safety.
•Computer literacy is essential with a good working knowledge of Excel, MS Word and Access
•Experience in tanker operations is important and knowledge of the maintenance of Fuel & Chemical vehicles would be a distinct advantage.
