ACCOUNTS CLERK/OFFICER
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Accounts Clerk reports to the Senior Administrative Officer and is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform the day to day processing of financial transactions to ensure that finances are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner
• Provide administrative support in order to ensure effective and efficient office operations
• Receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services
• Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures
• Prepare batches of invoices for data entry
• Prepare manual cheques as and when required and record all cheque payments
• Bank Reconciliations
• Petty Cash Reconciliation
• Maintain listing of accounts receivable and payable
• Prepare purchase orders , travel and accommodation warrants and travel advances for staff, Review and verify travel claims
• Staff advance and loan reconciliations
• Maintain a filing system for all financial documents
• Ensure the confidentiality and security of all company information and employee files
• Perform other related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Any AAT level
• Experience is a must

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• knowledge of office administration and bookkeeping procedures
• knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable and maintaining general ledgers
• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
