Senior Business Controller - Mining Systems Market Operations Africa

The role

The role is to perform Business Controlling activities within (and if applicable across) respective Product Area Mining Systems Market Operations and coordinate activities between the Sandvik Finance community, Business Control and Sandvik Business.

Your profile

• Matric (Grade 12)
• University/College degree in a relevant field (Finance, Business, Engineering etc.) OR suitably qualified as articulated in the Employment Equity Act.
• At least 5 years experience within Business Control (preferably in Project Control)
• At least 3 years experience within other Finance operations coupled with a verified match of the competence profile.
• Experience in a global/regional organization is generally preferred,
• Bulk Materials Handling experience is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities are all based on IAS/IFRS standards.

Your responsibles will include:

• Performing Long-term planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
• Performing period end reporting analysis
• Performing Cost and Inventory Analysis and Monitoring
• Ensuring global compliance with accounting standards and financial reporting policies and procedures across the line organization.
• Driving Performance Management by determining key performance drivers, monitoring progress of activities, evaluating perfromance drivers and determining corrective action.
• Driving Decision Making and providing recommendations
• Developing Business Partnering by acting as respected speaking partner to all stakeholders who can add a holistic view and by providing financial and commercial perspective on strategic and operational issues.
• Developing network in operations outside Finance.
• Developing the Mining Systems Finance/Business Control community.
• Lead and develop direct reports
• Taking responsibility for personal development and enhancement of skills.
