INVESTMENT ACCOUNTANT
Job Purpose
The Investment Accountant is responsible for the execution of investment accounting and its administration, financial reporting, month end reconciliation work, analyzing the financial information, organizing the accounts, managing and checking of accounts and ensuring accuracy. This role will partner with the Operations department to ensure accurate portfolio valuations, proper fund accounting for all the funds.
Principal Accountabilities:
- To manage the company’s portfolio of investment, to ensure investment activities are appropriately recorded, to analyze the possible variances and to make the necessary entries in the journals by interacting with the portfolio managers
- To accurately prepare monthly investment reconciliations and ensure any discrepancies are timeously corrected
- To ensure proper valuation of client’s investments using correct valuation methods
- To take an active part in preparing the yearly budget for investment fee and assist in the timely and accurate reporting of all the transactions related to investment
- To coordinate and manage all the aspects related to the general ledger accounting for all the investments and to interact with the investment accounting system as well as the portfolio manager
- Responsible for reporting to the regulator
- Assist both Internal and External Auditors

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Science or Equivalent
- ACCA or CA qualified
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years post ACCA/CA qualification experience
- Ability to analyze financial information and awareness of the financial reporting requirements for different products
- A minimum of 3 years Audit Experience
