Accounts & Applications Manager
The role
Develop long term customer relationships and help the customer exceed their targets, utilizing the entire Sandvik’ offering, to increase Sandvik Share of customer spend. Successful execution of this role will require detailed and profound understanding of the accounts’ strategic goals, business targets and operational needs as well as Sandvik Mining´s capability to offer products, services and systems to meet these needs and to create maximum mutual value. The Accounts and Applications Manager is responsible for business result of all Key Accounts in Sales Area.
Mandate: Product: All designated accounts, Global Equipment (GE) and Global Tools & Service (GT&S), Geography: Sales Areas.

- Share of customer spend
- Account revenue volume
Your Profile
- Degree in Mining Engineering
- 15 years mining industry experience
- Project Management experience/ qualifications essential
- Business Management qualifications
- Working knowledge of mining equipment for mine development and production
- Sales and or Sales management experience essential, preferably with a focus on Key Account Management
- Proven successful ability to develop long term customer relationships
- Experience with Sandvik or equivalent Mining equipment would be an advantage
- Exposure to application engineering and mine development studies would be a distinct advantage
- Proven ability to develop and execute long term business plans
- Valid driver’s license
Duties and Responsibilities: Account management
- Act as customer account manager, for selected customer accounts
- Drive execution of account plans including needed progress reviews
- Lead budgeting process to integrate account view versus product line view and local versus global view
- Recruit, retain and develop account management team including succession planning
- Assign account managers to accounts
- Ensure that cross Product Line account teams operate effectively to ensure the development of overall Sandvik business for a given account
- Ensure that account plans including needed KPIs are in place for every designated accounts
- Ensure the connection with global teams and consistency with operating rules, for global accounts
- Develop strategic growth plans for customers
Application management:
- Prioritize application projects according to business needs and assign projects to application specialist
- Recruit, retain and develop application specialists to enable identification of all potential applications for account that can be met by Sandvik mining offering.
Key Interactions:
- GE – Product Area Director collaborates on Global account management plan development and execution
- GE – Sales Area Support Manager provides product detailed specification on a regular basis and information and support on products for specific deals and receives accounts plans and request for special options
- GE – Technical Service Manager provides support on major deals where services are integrated
- GE – Product Line Manager provides approval on major projects pricing and receives account plans and major Greenfields projects identification
- GE – Product Support Manager provides application & product account management training, bulletin distribution and product detailed specification
- GE – Product Application Specialist provides application & product account management training
