Reporting to the Managing Director (MD), the Strategy Manager will be responsible for driving the business strategy, developing insights through research and analysis, and providing technical support to the Managing Director’s Office.

Requirements

As Strategy Manager, you will be expected to lead the development and execution of the Corporation’s Strategic Plan. You will scan trends and patterns in the internal and external environments, analyse them to determine how these would impact our business now and in the future, and work with the various functional leads to develop mitigating and competitive responses. You will coordinate the Corporation-wide delivery programme and monitor progress against our objectives and targets.

You will also be responsible for leading an in-house research capability to draw-out insights about our business and the markets in which we operate or are expecting to operate in. You will add insights to our Due Diligence, Investment and Risk teams to not only protect the interests of the Corporation, but also to identify opportunities for growth. Through the use of approaches and tools such as Analytics and Data Mining you will be a key advisor to other functional leads and coordinate a proactive information sharing and learning environment within BDC.

Finally, you will use your unique blend of analytical and communication skills to provide technical assistance to the Office of the Managing Director. This will include analysis of data, writing reports, and developing points of view on topics ranging from employment creation to emerging growth sectors. You will support the MD in engaging and managing stakeholders. To this end, you will communicate and interact effectively with all stakeholders to ensure that the strategic, tactical and operational direction of the Corporation – as well as our imperatives – are adequately disseminated, are clearly understood and supported.

You will complement the team well if you are flexible and adaptive, progressive and analytical, innovative and dynamic. To succeed in this role you must be a collaborator who has integrity and is enterprising and most importantly focused on delivering results.

Do you have a business related degree in finance, engineering, project management or any related field? This demanding role will require you to have experience in the financial services industry, preferably in investment related industries such as venture capital, private equity, development finance, banking, or corporate finance. A strong analytical mind, exceptional communication skills and a proven ability to work in a fast paced and ever-changing environment are key.
