SENIOR SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR

Applicants are invited from suitably qualified employees for the position of Senior System Administrator.

The Senior System Administrator (SSA) is responsible for providing the technical lead in the planning, designing, configuring, maintaining and supporting of computer systems comprising server and storage devices, virtualization and replication technologies, Suse Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems, electronic messaging, and backup and restore processes.

Key Performance Areas

Plans, executes and provides support for operating systems, servers, virtualization and storage area network technologies activities and solutions to provide quality service and efficiency
Plans, implements and provides administrative support for electronic mail, Active Directory, DHCP and DNS
Plans, performs and monitors backup and restore operations according to approved policies, procedures and processes
Contributes to the planning, testing and implementation of server and storage infrastructure high availability and disaster recovery plans
Ensures systems are updated and remain current with all vendor supplied security and operations patches and upgrades to maximize the operational and security aspects of the systems under their cognizance
Oversees and performs daily systems monitoring and provisioning of server and storage resources such as CPU, memory, disk spaces, VM servers etc
Researches and recommends innovative latest appropriate technological approaches for systems administration tasks
Performs verification and validation of assets and inventory management for licenses, software and hardware

Qualifications
Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as Engineering or Computer Science, Systems Administration/System Engineer certification and Project management skills will be added advantage.

Background Experience
At least 5 years related experience in full System Administration, Network Administration Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft Certified Engineer or any Unix/Linux qualification.
