Job Summary

Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Degree in an Engineering discipline – Mechanical or Electrical
- 10 years post qualifi cation engineering experience in a surface mining engineering environment with 8 years at substantive Engineer level
- Registration with Botswana Engineers’ Registration Board or equivalent
- Project Management
- Middle Management Development Program
Key Effectiveness Areas
- Develops medium and long term facility strategies to ensure slick operation for owner and contractor disciplines
- Initiates the execution of projects to sustain facilities for the working environment
- Plans and coordinates the medium to long term maintenance strategy for the mining area facilities
- Ensures sustainable supply of utilities (water and electricity) to these facilities
- Responsible for and manages the overall section’s safety, health and environmental programme in line with the operational strategy and objectives
- Identifi es and mitigates business risks
- Provides the framework for application of knowledge management principles to ensure effective knowledge capture, exchange and adaptation.
- Coordinates departmental and Engineering subordinates to achieve individual and team objectives by ensuring the right competence and effectiveness of engineering manpower (capacity building) through developing and implementing career , localization/succession, training and development plans, recruiting and placing engineers
- Manages subordinates’ key effectiveness areas by setting, monitoring and reviewing performance and taking remedial action as necessary
- Ensures legal and statutory compliance
- Maintains effective relationships with stakeholders and partners to ensure business objectives are met
