HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT – EMPLOYEE RELATIONS – (B4 SUBGRADE)

Job Summary
To provide an administrative service to the Employee Relations section to ensure achievement of
sectional objectives.


Minimum Requirements
 Certificate in Social Sciences or equivalent
 2 years post qualification experience within a Human
Resources environment
 Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel and Power-point)
Key Effectiveness Areas
 Assists in the compilation of budget by providing information based on sectional resource
requirements.
 Assists with employee relations processes as directed by supervisor
 Provides logistical support for Employee Relations Section by arranging venues for forums
e.g. ONCC & JNCC, inviting relevant stakeholders, booking accommodation & meals, applying
for security permits, arranging for inductions and organizing transport for visitors.
 Maintains relevant employee relations database and avails information to supervisor when
required.
 Assists employees on where to find collective agreements, procedures and polices related to
employee relations
 Provides resolution to queries that do not require escalation to higher level.
 Provides a records management service by:
o Maintaining the sections filing system
o Maintaining and providing information as required
 Provides effective clerical and administrative function by:
o Performing all associated administrative and clerical activities.
o Assisting in the completion of a variety of documents to line management, e.g.
grievance docket, disciplinary docket.
o Compiling a list of all external cases for reporting as per instruction from supervisor.
 Adheres to all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures in area of
responsibility.
