ACCOUNTANT
Job Summary
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful incumbent will be required to provide quality financial and administrative services to meet the needs of both the business.

Key Responsibilities
Ensure that correct process for payment of creditors is followed, invoices to properly authorized, substantiated by receipts for good/services
Ensure funds are in the appropriate currencies for payment
Ensure payments have correct tax treatment for WHT and VAT
Review all payments to creditors for bank signatories
Timely review of supplier reconciliations in line with the Trial Balance
Prepare weekly, monthly and periodical sectional reports
Adherence to internal and statutory requirements
Compliance to Safety, Health and Environmental standards
Requirements
Job Requirements
Degree in Accounting and Professional part qualification- ACCA/CIMA
Registered member of BICA
5 years relevant work experience
In-depth knowledge of Botswana tax laws
Experience in construction or mining industry
In-depth knowledge of the finance and management accounting functions
Detailed knowledge of IFRS
Proficiency in accounting software, preferably JDE

Majwe Mining Joint Venture (Pty) Ltd. has been engaged as a Contractor for the Cut 8 Contract Mining by Debswana at the Jwaneng Mine. The project is to move waste material to expand the current mine and it is an important contribution to the economy of Botswana.
