Vacancy : SENIOR SAFETY OFFICER
PURPOSE OF ROLE

To support,implement,facilitate,monitor and audit the compliance of BBM's operations to OHSAS 18001 Safety Management system requirements,corporate, legal and other requirements
Key performance areas 
●Conduct scheduled internal audits and inspections against the requirements of the BBM safety management system
●Assist in the evaluation and assessment of solutions for new projects, unusual conditions and corrective measures to control risk and ensure legislative adherence
●Assist in compiling reports and statistics to meet on-mine and statutory requirements
●Monitors adherence to the operation's Environmental Management Programme.

Minimum Requirements
●Tertiary Diploma in Safety Management /Diploma in Mining or Engineering related discipline or technical equivalent
●Minimum 3 years experience in an HSE capacity on a large mining project
●Must have a valid driver's license
Skills ans Competencies
●Clear understanding of OHSAS 18001 and related standards
●Through knowledge of relevant legislation, mine standards, incident investigation techniques, risk assessment methodologies 

●SAMTRAC/SHEMTRAC or similar is an advantage
