VACANCY CIRCULAR NO. 2 OF 2017
LAND TRIBUNAL MEMBERS X 5 POSITIONS TENABLE AT GABORONE AND PALAPYE DIVISIONS: 1 YEAR (12 MONTHS) CONTRACT.
SALARY: D2 (P238, 668 – P263, 508 per annum)
LEAVE: 30 working days per annum.
OTHER BENEFITS
• Gratuity at the rate of 25% of contract earnings at the end of contract
• Optional contributory Medical aid scheme (Government pays 50% and employee pays 50%).
QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in Planning (Urban Design and Regional Planning, Physical Planning and Development Planning), Land Management, Environmental Science or any related fields.
EXPERIENCE: At least 12 years’ experience in the area of Land Tribunal Act, Town Planning Act, Tribal Land Act, and Land related laws and regulations, Basic Principles of Law and Customary Laws of Botswana.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To adjudicate on appeals emanating from decisions of Land Boards and Planning Authorities.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
• Hears and determine appeals and applications arising from decisions of Land Boards and Planning Authorities.
• Draft judgments
• Proof read drafts judgments from other panel members
• Deliver written judgements in open court.
• Proof read record of court proceedings within set timelines.
• To perform any other duties as may from time to time be assigned by the Land Tribunal President or Management.
