Salary: C1 (P 123,168.00 – P147, 180.00) per annum
Leave: 30 working days per annum.

Qualifications: Diploma in Mining Engineering
Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in the Mining and Mineral industry or minimum of two years at Senior Technical Officer (C2), scale in the government service.
Main Purpose of the Job:
• To carry out inspections and audits of mining operations, explosives facilities and civil construction sites where explosives are used, as well as process applications for explosives permits, licences and authorisations.
Key Performance Areas:
• Evaluates applications for blasting licence examinations and explosives permits, licences and authorisations.
• Invigilates blasting licence examinations.
• Issues blasting licences and explosives licences, permits and authorisations issued at level of assistant inspector.
• Assists in collection of data and maintenance of databases relating to explosives, blasting licences, mining industry employment statistics, health and mortality statistics, and ventilation returns.
• Inspects and audits of mines, quarries, explosives facilities, and civil construction sites where explosives are used for compliance with Mines Quarries, Works and Machinery Act, as well as Explosives Act.
• Investigates mine accidents, dangerous occurrences as well as incidents related to explosives.
• Ensures compliance with the Department’s processes and performance standards
• Supervise, and carry out performance reviews of junior officers.
• Disseminates information to customers on mining legislation, standards, and guidelines.
